How will this fireplace be sent to my house?
The Alluravision 60 fireplace will be shipped via freight truck or standard ground service. For freight delivery, it is necessary for you or someone you choose to be available at the time and place of the delivery. Read more about how freight shipping works on our FAQ page.
Can this fireplace be recessed into the wall?
Yes, the Alluravision 60 can be wall mounted, partially recessed or fully recessed. Check out the excerpts from the installation manual in the images above to see how the Alluravision 60 can be installed using the included wall bracket or building it into the wall
What are the electrical requirements?
The Alluravision 60 is equipped with a standard plug for any outlet, it requires a 15 AMP, 120 Volt circuit. It is not required, but recommended that the circuit be dedicated, as additional electrical draw from other appliances may trip the breaker. The Alluravision 60 can also be hard wired, you can see the hard wiring instructions in the images above.
How much does it cost to use the heater?
That depends on your electricity rates. The current average is $0.12/KWH, the Alluravision 60 Slim uses 1.5 Kw/H on high, so it will cost around $0.18/Hour to operate.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Does this fireplace have the same California P65 warning as the Simplifire Allusion does? It is a concern to me, not sure quite how dangerous this is after it is manufactured and installed????
The manufacturer's decide which warnings will be placed on the product based on the Prop65 rules. The Allusion has the following warning: This product can expose you to Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. For more information go to: www.P65Warnings. ca.gov. While the Alluravision has the following warning: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead and lead compounds, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, and chemicals including BBP and DEHP, which are known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. This means that they may have been exposed to these compounds at some point during the manufacturing process or may have small amounts inside them, such as on circuit boards etc. The only danger, as far as I understand it, would be if you were to ingest these compounds. To do so, you would need to swallow some part of the unit or sand part of it to create dust which you could then inhale. Let us know if you would like further clarifcation. Thanks for your question!
We have interior 2x4 studs covered by sheetrock. What if any insillation is required to mount this unit in our bedroom wall once i cut sheetrock and 2x4s and put in frame? The heat this 60” puts out would be a hazard i would think. It is just right depth for flush mount.
If you're going to fully recess the fireplace, hard wiring it would probably be the way to go as well, if you can get the wiring in place. Otherwise, once you have the framing built, the fireplace slides in place and gets secured with a few screws. The heat is not a hazard to wood framing as it has been designed for this type of installation. The minimum depth for a recessed installation is 4-1/2". The fireplace itself is only 4-1/4" but that extra space allows room for the heat to dissipate. With your current 2x4 wall you have 3-1/2" of depth with the stud and most likely 1/2" depth for the sheet rock for a total of only 4". It can still be installed in the wall as you are planning, but you may need to build out a 1/2" to allow for all the clearances. One way to do this would be with a 1/2" or greater wood trim. Where exactly should I mount the rough in electric box? How high off the bottom, and how far to the left / right of the side wall for best results. I am planning on just plugging this in to my recessed duplex. Thank you
The cord location is on the bottom left corner when facing the fireplace and the cord length is 6 ft, so if you're plugging it in, the outlet need only be within 6 ft of the bottom left rear corner. If you're going to be recessing the fireplace, it is recommended that the cord be removed and the fireplace be hardwired as electrical outlets should not be concealed without access. Here's a link to the installation manual for further information. Please feel free to give us a call (844)635-5499 or send us an email, email@example.com, if you would like further clarification. Thanks for your question!
For a flush mount installation, where do I put the duplex 115 volt plug? How far above the floor does it usually go for a 60" wide model?
For a flush mount or recessed installation, the plug and wire are typically removed and standard electrical wiring is run in the wall and the fireplace would be hardwired in place. How far above the floor the fireplace sits is up to you and usually relates to where it will typically be viewed from. If you'll usually be sitting in a couch when viewing it, then 12-18" off the floor may work, while if you'll often be standing looking at it, anywhere up to 48" may work. Please let us know if you would like any clarification on any of this information. Thanks for your question!
I need a fireplace with the vents on the front or bottom. Where are the vents located?
The heater for this fireplace is in the top middle behind the glass and firebox. The heat is blown out horizontally from the top front, below the trim. Click here for an image showing where the heat will blow out of. So if I understand correctly, this fireplace will work for your needs. Please let us know if you would like any additional clarification. Thanks for your question!
