FAQ's - Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
  • Direct venting creates a hole for the cold air to come in. How can I prevent the cold air from coming into through the direct venting system.

A direct vent system is a sealed system, meaning there is no exchange of the air in the building with the air circulated through the fireplace or stove.  The cold air that comes in through the air intake enters the fireplace, is used for combustion and exits back to the exterior.  Because the system is sealed, the cold air does not flow into the building.  Here's an article we wrote with additional explanation.  Thanks for your question!

  • can the vent pipe be bent 90 degrees

Yes, Napoleon's flex vent can be bent 90°.  The five foot section in this kit includes spacers which keep the interior exhaust pipe from contacting the outer intake pipe wall.  Thanks for your question!
